History of Ivisan

The municipality of Ivisan got the named because of the Spaniards. They based on the word "ibis" which means small fishes. It is because the ancestors of the Ivisanon go to the sea to catch some fishes and they always told to their other companies that "let's go and catch some ibis!", that's why they used to named Ibisan to the said village. The Ivisan also is known for having a beach or sea that is surrounded by the white and fine sand and clear and crystal water, which the other people love it too and they used to go back in the place again and again. But later on and when the time goes by, the Spanish scholars got their preference that the letter "B" should be "V" so instead of "Ibisan" they prefered to be pronounce is as "Ivisan". This was the great history of Ivisan and how they used to have the name of their beloved village.
